Two Years

Mica!

Now you are two!

Oh, you love to make exclamations. And lately, you end them each with an emphatic, scrunched-up smiley-faced, "Right! Mama!"

Right, Mica!




Today we celebrated your second birthday.

First, we baked the cake.




Then, after lunch, we did the birthday ring ritual, telling you all about your life here with us so far. I ended by saying, "And now you are two, and we are so glad you are you."





Afterward, we ate Jungle Cake with Coconut Cream Cheese frosting (from the wonderful book, After the Baby's Birth).




As we ate, I asked you, "Mica, do you remember when you born?"

You dug into your cake, and you said, "Yep."

I believe you do.
