Better than Botox

A couple of months ago, I was driving around on a sunny day with my two kids reclining in their carseats behind me and I happened to catch a glimpse of my forehead in the rearview mirror.

Oh my! What a scowl!

Right then and there, I suddenly understood karma (that our actions become our habits; our habits become our character; and our character becomes our destiny).

I suddenly understood vanity (and all that botox).

I tried to smooth out the wrinkles the rest of the drive.

Oh my! What a dork!

I practically crashed the car, trying to see if I had smoothed out the scowl.

There was only one thing to do... invest in prescription sunglasses.

I chose right then and there not to be/come a scowling old lady. At least not while I have my sunglasses on.

  1. I think I need those, I'm getting lines from constantly squinting. I'm way too young for that, lol!

  4. I am a bit disappointed in myself that my first wrinkle was a little scowl line between my eyes and not a deep laugh line... I'm working on it also! (although to my credit, I think it is also more from squinting on sunny days with no sunglasses rather than scowling! LOL)

  5. So funny and so very true! I rode around in my car all day with my sunglasses at home on my dresser . . . by the end of the day, I felt a bit scowley, too. Thanks for your comment on my blog a few days back . . . my very first. I'm still getting a feel for how I want to blog and am enjoying reading other mothers' stories.

  7. Too funny!! I have a nice sleep-induced wrinkle in my forehead that I try desperately to undo every morning ... maybe I'm a scowling sleeper??! :P
What a wonderful post though. Fantastic photos - you look truly wonderful in your new sunglasses!

  8. I have a tendency to squint / scowl at the computer screen when I am thinking (which is all day at work!) I think there's no solving it now - it's a hard habit to break!
